Lee Kalpakis is a professional cook and nature enthusiast living in the woods of the Catskill Mountains. Born and raised in the Hudson Valley, she worked at her parents’ restaurant as a kid. As an adult, she spent years in New York City working in food media as a recipe developer, cooking show host, culinary producer, food stylist, and private chef before moving back upstate and into the wild.
Now Lee’s days are spent cooking, basking in the beauty of mountain life, and making a home in the cabin she built with her partner, Sean. Through living in a 22 foot long vintage camper for almost 2 years during the cabin build, Lee has found a tremendous passion for functional tiny home friendly recipes and cooking over open fire. Her first cookbook OUT THERE: A Camper Cookbook, is to be published in the spring of 2024 (by Weldon Owen). It’s a book focused on cooking over fire and in a tiny kitchen deep in the forest of the Catskills.
